Can I change my list mid round at any point in the league?

  • No

What and When is list lock?

  • List lock means you cannot change your list
  • List lock starts at the beginning of Round 4
  • You cannot change your list while in round 4 and 5 (Unless otherwise advised by your local league executive)

An FAQ just dropped, when does it come into effect?

  • Now

But the FAQ nerfed my army, my profiles aren’t as good, can I change my list?

  • No

My Codex just dropped, when does it come into effect?

  • Next Round

A MFM just dropped, when does it come into effect?

  • Next Round

I saw a leak or someone posted an upcoming FAQ leak (something not officially released by GW), can I use it?

  • No

Are fortifications allowed?

  • Yes, fortifications are allowed in the league and they are considered to be like any other Unit that is deployed.

What FAQs does the league use?


What happens if my opponent cannot play or concedes the match?

  • It is unfortunate but this can happen. If your opponent agreed to concede enter a score of 70 for you and 0 for you opponent
  • If there is an issue about who is conceding or you cannot agree on the outcome, contact you executive

Fight First, what’s the deal?

  • Fight Phase is broken up into 2 phases.
  • Phase 1 – Fight First.
    • Units with FF will activate.
    • FF can be achieved by either a charge or FF rule on data sheet.
    • Order starts with non-active player then goes to active player and alternates until all units FF units have finished.
  • Phase 2 – Existing Combat.

Fight First rare rules:

  • Can I get double fight first?
    • No, you can only gain FF once by a charge or rule on data sheet.
  • It’s my turn, I charged into a unit with FF, don’t I go first?
    • No, rules state non-active player starts the FF phase, and then alternates until all FF units have finished, if an opponent runs out of FF units the other player finishes all their FF units.
  • Can I interrupt the FF phase?
    • Yes you can if you have enough CP.
  • When can I interrupt a FF phase?
    • Only after the active player has completed their first FF unit (See Counter-Offensive Stratagem).
  • If I have FF and am non-active player, can I interrupt right after I do my first FF?
    • No, active player must get to attack before you use the stratagem (See Counter-Offensive Stratagem).

What terrain should I use?

  • The Ontario 40k League uses the WTC Terrain layouts and rules
  • Suggested terrain layouts can be found in the schedule

The Executive
The league is divided into divisions. Each division has an executive member on the executive committee. They are your representative on the steering board if you have issues. Please reach out to your corresponding executive member if you have issues in your division:
